Road trips
are always fun. New places to see, experiences to have. As a passenger, simply staring into the scenery, daydreaming.
The car window is from a 1965 Buick Riviera, not unlike my father’s car. He would drive us all over California when we were little. The background is Joshua Tree, a very well known desert in Southern California, funny looking trees and all. The wildflower blooms in springtime are spectacular.
Pokey, a favorite toy of my childhood, imagines himself running like the wind. The blur of the scenery give a sense of speed. He represents my lifelong love of horses and the hours of wonderful clay animation that is Gumby & Pokey by Art Clokey.
Hanging Your Art
This painting comes with a “floater frame” which gives the illusion of the panel floating inside the frame. The sides of the painting have been painted with a deep black acrylic stain. You can hang the painting without a frame, but I recommend keeping it to protect it.
